It is an annual Saint Anne tradition to host an in-house math competition. The Math Olympiad was implemented to insight enthusiasm and love for mathematics. Our students look forward to the PTO sponsored event every year in March. The Math Olympiad will take place on Thursday, March 26th, 2020.
Ten students in grades 5-8 are selected a month before the contest. One student from each grade level is represented on every team. Saints are used as the team names. For example, in the past we have used St. James the Less, St. Phillip, St. Francis of Assisi, St. Matthew, and St. Bartholomew to name a few. Competitors are provided with a study guide and responsible for organizing team practices.
There are four rounds (easy, average, difficult, and clincher), with each round including five questions. The point value per question increases each round. The top three teams win a cash prize.
