Letter from Bishop Thomas: Catholic Schools Week

Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,

On Sunday, January 26, 2020, we will celebrate the enduring value of Catholic education within the Archdiocese of Las Vegas as we launch our annual observance of national Catholic Schools’ Week. This year’s theme “Catholic Schools: Learn, Serve, Lead, Succeed” aptly describes the mission of our Catholic school communities, guiding our students in becoming life-long learners, generous servants and effective leaders. On my visits to our campuses, I have witnessed the faith, knowledge and service alive in each of our schools. Our stellar graduation statistics, test scores and numerous examples of the accomplishments of Catholic School graduates’ reflect the fact that our students are successful contributors to society.

As we observe Catholic Schools’ Week, I offer you my profound gratitude for your support of Catholic education in our Diocese. I invite you to experience the vibrancy, dynamics, and excellence that exist within our schools. Whether you are preparing your child for Pre-Kindergarten or searching for a new learning environment for your children, I welcome you to visit our schools, explore our web-site, and learn more about how we can help your children reach their true potential. I thank you for choosing Catholic education and assure you of my heartfelt prayers for you and your families.

Sincerely yours in Christ,

Most Reverend George Leo Thomas Ph.D.
Bishop of the Archdiocese of Las Vegas
